Ouchhh

Founded in Istanbul by Ferdi Alıcı and Eylül Duranağaç Alıcı, Ouchhh is an internationally recognised new media studio whose practice sits at the intersection of art, science and emerging technology. Bringing together artists, architects, designers, scientists and AI researchers, the studio creates immersive installations, data sculptures and public artworks that translate complex scientific information into dynamic visual experiences.

Central to Ouchhh's practice is the transformation of data into artistic material. Rather than treating datasets as analytical information, the studio reimagines them as living visual systems, drawing from fields including neuroscience, astronomy, biology, climate science and urban infrastructure. Artificial intelligence, machine learning and generative algorithms are employed not simply as technological tools but as creative collaborators that reveal hidden relationships embedded within vast collections of information.

The studio has worked with scientific datasets including NASA's Kepler mission archive and particle-collision data from CERN, and has presented work at the Mori Art Museum in Tokyo, Atelier des Lumières in Paris, ARTECHOUSE in Washington DC and the Ars Electronica Festival in Linz. Permanent public commissions stand in Beijing and Nanjing.

Presented internationally through museums, festivals, cultural institutions and large-scale public commissions, Ouchhh's works span immersive installations, media architecture, permanent public art and AI-driven sculptures. Across each project, the studio demonstrates how scientific knowledge can be translated into emotionally engaging experiences that invite audiences to encounter data not as abstraction but as a living expression of the natural and technological worlds.
